Baby photography

I had the great pleasure recently to photograph twin baby girls. They were great, so well behaved and curious about the camera, and with the help of their wonderful elder sisters and brother the session went by so smoothly.

It took me back to when my children were babies, but although we have four we were never quite in the position that parents of twins are. I have posted a sample of the images. Here's looking at you, kid.... 'erm and you kid too!

Charity Auction

Just a note to say thankyou to everyone who gave so generously during the charity auction in support of the Southport & Formby NHS Trust daycare support, and to those who donated prizes for such a great cause.

I was really pleased to be able to help in this great cause and really looking forward to providing a great time and fantastic images to the couple who so generously successfully bid for my Lifestyle experience. Well done all for supporting this cause.

Help for our community

A charity fundraising event is taking place tonight in support of the Southport & Formby NHS Trust, and I was honoured and proud to be amongst those asked to donate a prize as part of the planned charity auction. Hosted within the new Southport Theatre & Convention Centre complex, over 200 people will dine and be entertained, and in return will show their much needed support and generosity.

The Clatterbridge Mobile Day-Care unit does a fantastic job for patients across the region, but they need our help to improve the experience of those they treat. Funds are being raised to provide a better environment for the day-care patients in Southport & Formby, some of whom, due to lack of available space, spend their treatment time in uncomfortable & inappropriate surroundings.

Planning permission has been granted to build and provide this much needed room, hence the need for this event and many others too. Here's to a great evening for all those attending and to the ultimate success of this excellent ongoing campaign.

Bobhowla Album Artwork

A while ago I was able to combine my love of music and photography when I shot the cover for the new album for a singer-songwriter who goes under the name Bobhowla. Over a few hours we worked our way through a number of different setups, seeking inspiration from the locations we found ourselves in.

The final album cover choice of the ivy as a background was just what was needed and adorns both the outer, the inner and also the centre of the CD itself.

What's more, this fantastic album is available to download on I-Tunes, just search for Bobhowla, try out the sample and I am sure you will want to own it!

Winter Wedding Day for Janette & Andy

Janette & Andy's wedding day was a fantastic family occasion. Hosted by the beautifully decorated and expertly managed Sparth House Hotel in Clayton-Le-Moors, the bubbly bride & groom and their equally bubbly family and friends were out to enjoy themselves. No hint of the continuous rain on that late November day crept into the warm and loving ambiance created by those gathered.

This small selection of images bear this out, and show how photogenic a winter wedding can be when the right people, location and photographer come together (a little plug there, but then again this is my blog after all!).

Janette and Andy - Pre Wedding Shoot

I met up with Janette and Andy a couple of weeks ago in Samlesbury. I will be shooting their wedding on the 21st November at the elegant Sparth House near Burnley, and so I drove to meet them to go over the finer details of their day. Once the last touches to the schedule were completed over a drink, I took them out to capture some funky pre-wedding shots. This always serves as a great warm-up for the day and gave Janette and Andy a chance to get really comfortable in front of the camera. I always offer a complimentary pre-wedding shoot as it really gives the couple a chance to see how easy it is to work with me, which helps the shots on the day flow as well. I created some great images for them to choose from into the bargain too!
